Curtiss P-40 Warhawk fighter-bomber aircraft was the initial equipment for 99th Fighter Squadron.  In March 1944, Bell P-39 Airacobras was used for 332nd Fighter Group.  In June to July 1944, the group had Republic P-47 Thunderbolts.  In July 1944, the North American P-51 Mustang was used for their aircraft.
