As I have stated before, Quarry Bank Mill is situated in Styal, Cheshire. It is located next to Manchester Airport. To power the waterwheels located in the mill, the people used the water from River Bollin. The location of the mill is strategic since it is next to the bank of River Bollin.

Thomas Hewes was the man who designed the iron water wheel in the mill. It was the fourth one installed in the mill. The water wheel was installed around in 1816 and 1820.

Alexander Carlton Greg took a big decision when he decided to donate the mill and estate in 1939 to National Trust. The mill was opened for public. Based on the data in 2013, there were 130,000 people visiting the mill.
